Beginner Firearms Safety & VA Concealed Carry Basics

In person concealed carry course meeting the minimum Virginia concealed carry requirements. This class covers Virginia state-specific concealed carry laws, and automatically includes the USCCA’s The Legal Use of Force and Self-Defense Firearms Basics curriculum. 

Please Note: There will be no firearm handling in this class, it is not a “Learn to shoot” class. This class meets the minimum requirements for concealed carry in the Commonwealth of Virginia and it is STRONGLY suggested that additional training is sought out by the student.

Course Overview

  • Concealed carry laws and legal responsibilities in Virginia.
  • Safe handling and operation of firearms.
  • Introduction to defensive mindset and concepts.

Students are welcome to bring their current or prospective concealed carry firearm for instructor assistance.

NO AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM! ALL FIREARMS MUST BE CLEARED BY THE INSTRUCTOR ON ENTRY.

Who Should Attend

  • Individuals seeking their Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit (Commonly referred to as CHP or CCW).
  • Anyone seeking firearms safety training and increased confidence in firearms handling.
  • Anyone wishing to learn Virginia’s Concealed Carry and Use of Force laws.

Class Structure

  • In-Person Training: Primarily lecture, with some opportunities for interactive training.
  • Duration: 2.5 hours.
  • Class Size: Maximum of 15 students for personalized attention.
